Dr. Richard Luff grew up in southern Idaho. He earned a BA from Utah State before moving to Columbus, Ohio to attend dental school at The Ohio State University. He graduated from dental school at the top of his class and received numerous awards for his accomplishments in patient care and academics. Following dental school, Dr. Luff joined the United States Air Force as a captain in the dental corps. He attended the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Elmendorf AFB Hospital where he again graduated top of his class. He spent the first three years of his four-year tour on Elmendorf AFB caring for the dental needs of the military men and women of Alaska. After completing his tour with the Air Force, Dr. Luff attended the University of Louisville in Kentucky for a two-year residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Upon completion of his degree in orthodontics, Dr. Luff returned to Alaska, fulfilling a childhood dream to live in Alaska and providing a homecoming for his Alaskan wife.

Dr. Luff, his wife Lori, and their two children, Avery and Clyde, are very excited to be back home in Alaska. Dr. Luff is equally excited to join the Luff team and do what he loves most, create beautiful smiles for his patients. In his free time you can usually find him ice climbing the Chugach and camping with his family.
